Debut at IAA Hannover 2014: DAF present CF Silent

DAF will present a new, quiet CF model for evening and night-time urban distribution at IAA 2014, to be held in Hannover from 25 September to 2 October. CF Silent will be available in early 2015.
When CF Silent is set to its Silent Mode setting, the noise level is no more than 72 dB (A), which means that the CF meets the requirements for loading and unloading goods in areas where noise restrictions apply in the evening, at night and in the early morning.
The new DAF CF Silent is equipped with a 10.8-litre PACCAR MX-11 Euro 6 engine with a power output of between 210 kW/290 hp and 320 kW/440 hp.
The dashboard features a special Silent button. When pressed, torque and speed are limited. The encapsulation of the gearbox also helps to dampen noise levels.
DAF will supply CF Silent starting in early 2015 as a 4×2 chassis and tractor unit. It will be available with the Day Cab, Sleeper Cab and Space Cab, and will of course be available with a wide range of wheelbases.
